Backstory: Junia only has vague memories of her parents, who were farmers. The convent of the sacred flame was all she knew growing up. It was a life free from the wants of the world in someways, but unforgivingly harsh in others. She never lacked for food or safety, but she was also always expected to have the highest level of discipline and purity. It was a standard she had trouble holding up to. She had no problem completing her duties, but her private thoughts always turned to impure matters, during dull moments.
Not seeing any alternatives, Junia did her level best to live up to the standards demanded of her. Her quiet life came crashing down when, while tending the sacred flame, Junia glanced out the window of the convent and saw a couple making love. Her unintentional voyeurism distracted her long enough for the flame to go out. For years she had fantasized about that kind of physical intimacy, and had been absolutely fascinated to finally see it in person.
The priests who oversaw her order were not understanding or forgiving. For the sin of impure thoughts, and for the crime of letting the sacred flame go out, Junia was cast into a dungeon where the church employed enthusiastic men with whips and branding irons.
As she was slowly broken down in the dark, Junia waited for the Light she still served in her heart to strike her down for her transgressions, but all there was was darkness and the cruelty of humans. It was in this black pit that Junia had her revelation. The Holy Light did not care if she desired love, or if she was chaste and demure. The Light could see her very soul and knew her measure. Love was not a crime.
Buoyed by holy fervor, and filled with divine light, Junia broke free from her chains and smote her captors. She ran back up to the dormitories to tell her sisters what she had discovered, only to find that in some fit of religious madness, the same church that had cast her into the pit had also trapped all her sisters in the dormitory, which was now sealed with fresh masonry, for fear that Junia’s “corruption” had already spread to the whole convent.
She could HEAR them, weakly scratching at the wall, meme inches away, but she had no tool that could break solid stone, and the agents of the church were not far behind her. What choice did she have?
Junia ran.
She eventually found herself caught up with other various heroes and adventurers on a mad quest to prevent the end of the world (caused by an entirely unrelated situation.). As reality itself tore asunder, and time lost all meaning, Junia and her new friends challenged the source of the madness in a citadel of black iron atop a mountain time and time again (Darkest Dungeon 2 is a roguelike, you see.) until, eventually, they were able to find a way through to the mad god behind it all and put them out of their misery. The world is still a dangerous, corrupted place, but where there is darkness, there is also the light of hope.
TL;DR: Holy woman is cast out of her order for impure thoughts, but has a divine revelation and goes on a quest to save the world.

- Divine Healing: When she focuses on it, Junia can radiate healing light, gradually energizing and healing minor injuries to nearby allies. Or she can focus her power on one person to close larger injuries or neutralize poisons.
- Consecration: Junia can create holy ground, which will protect anyone who stands in it, turning aside blows with magic protection.
- Judgement: She can also channel her power in a more offensive mode, summoning blasts of light and lightning from the sky, or from her hands.
- Light: Junia project her light like a spotlight to illuminate things, or she can just glow, if she wants to

- Appearance: 5'8", beefy build, pale skin. Dresses extremely modestly, covered in form concealing robes and, often, heavy armor.
- Vibes: Junia speaks and acts very properly and deliberately most of the time. She does not seem like the type to easily lose control. She usually has an aura of deep sincerity and kindness about her, but lurking underneath it is a firey passion that could explode out at any moment.
